Rotary Park was truly a cooperative initiative, showing what a concerned group of citizens can accomplish to beautify their community.  As 2005 approached, all of the world's Rotary Clubs were charged to complete a project to recognize the centennial of the organization.  The two Macon Rotary clubs (Macon Rotary and Downtown Rotary) came together in 2003 to begin planning for such a project.  Inspired by beautiful parks in other cities, they approached NewTown Macon to find out what could be done in downtown Macon.

Rotary Park was the fruition of their thought and planning.  Dedicated on April 6, 2005 with the cooperation of the Macon Rotary, the Macon Downtown Rotary and NewTown Macon, the park features a beautiful pergola, landscaping and a formal fountain. The fountain is engraved with Rotary International’s four point test and stands as a monument to the centennial of the organization. Many generous donations helped build the park and they are recognized with engraved bricks around the fountain.

Since being built, the park has hosted a variety of events including an event to welcome two bronze statues on their way to the Millennium Arch in Atlanta, GA and even a wedding. If you are interested in using Rotary Park for your next event, please visit the Events section of our website.
